CV Summary

Inês Vidigal holds a degree in Geography and a master’s degree in European Policies from IGOT-UL, and is currently a PhD candidate in Sociology at Iscte-IUL. Since 2014, she has been a member of the Portuguese Emigration Observatory (OEm), where she has worked on the production, analysis, and communication of statistical data on Portuguese emigration.

For several years, she has served as editorial coordinator of the Observatory’s main publications, including the OEm Fact Sheets, the Portuguese Emigration Factbook, and OEm Conversations With, and since 2025 she has also been the executive coordinator of the Observatory.

She is the author and co-author of several works on Portuguese emigration, including the statistical yearbook Portuguese Emigration. Statistical Report, the book Atlas of Portuguese Emigration (2023), and the scientific article “Portuguese Emigration in the 21st Century” (2020).

In addition to her work at the OEm, she has collaborated on research projects on migration at IGOT-UL and Iscte-IUL and worked for three years at Pordata – Database of Contemporary Portugal, focusing on the dissemination of open-access statistical information on social and economic indicators for the wider public.
