The 2nd cycle, in particular, is criticized for the lack of coordination with the previous and subsequent cycles, resulting in negative impacts on students' development. With the analysis of the debate on this topic, proposals for reorganizing the educational system were presented, regrouping the teaching cycles and declaring a new purpose for their division, always demonstrating that the 2nd cycle as it currently exists is no longer justified.
