CV Summary

João Pedro Calado Barradas Branco Pavia graduated in Telecommunications and Computer Engineering from the ISCTE-IUL, in 2018. He worked for an international project funded by FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia) and TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) with aim of understanding the interaction between glow discharge detectors and THz waves in order to develop a new generation of imaging systems for safety applications.

João Pedro received his PhD in Information Sciences and Technologies in 2022, having as his thesis topic the design of wireless communication schemes for ultrafast communications in the millimetre wave and THz bands.

He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Applied Digital Technologies of the School of Digital Technologies, Economy and Society at ISCTE-IUL. His research interests include wireless communication networks, signal processing, big data, machine learning and cybersecurity.

He is a member of IEEE and he is also a member of COST - European Cooperation in Science and Technology, where he collaborates with professionals from several countries to develop solutions centred on the domain of intelligent radio communications for seamless inclusive interactions.

He has been involved as local organiser and reviewer in several conferences and symposia. He is also a reviewer for several journals of the information and communications technology area.
