Integrated researcher in DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte since 2013, Lídia Canha Fernandes collaborates with CICS.NOVA.UAc e CICS.UAc since 2019. She was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of the Azores in 2021/2022 and 2022/2023.
PhD in Sociology - Labour relations, social inequality and unionism (FEUC, 2019). Master in Psychology (Minho University, 1998) and in Sociology (ISCTE, 2011). In the PhD thesis she addressed the conflict around unemployment in a context of austerity.
Using mixed and participatory methodological strategies, she carried out research on the following themes: conflict, social movements and collective action; (un)employment, work and precariousness; financialisation and social exclusion; poverty; immigration; gender; homelessness; distance learning; hate speech.
She has participated in various social movements throughout her life: social, feminist, anti-xenophobia, anti-austerity, for the right to housing and to the city.
