Sara Margarida Parece is a PhD candidate at Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and a research assistant at Iscte-ISTAR. 

Her thesis project, Addressing Material Efficiency in Building Renovation Scenarios: A BIM-based decision support tool, is funded by a grant from the MIT Portugal Program. 

Her work consists of studying digital tools, such as Building Information Modelling, to facilitate the transition to the Circular Economy in the construction sector, sustainable design practices and the efficiency of building materials.
