Sara Nunes holds a Bachelor’s degree (2020) and a Master’s degree in Sociology (2024) from Iscte-IUL. Throughout her academic career, she has gained in-depth knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods, having written a Master’s thesis on the processes of formation and transformation of female identities, a study based on the biographical method and lifeline analysis. In 2026, she completed a postgraduate course in Data Analysis in the Social Sciences at the same institution.

She began her research career in 2019 at CIES-Iscte, where she participated in various research projects related to the preparation of diagnostic studies, strategic documents and project/programme evaluation models in the fields of the Sociology of Education, Public Policy and Social Intervention. Since 2023, she has been a research assistant at CoLABOR, working as part of the team responsible for the maintenance and development of DataLABOR (Statistical and Legal Data Platform) and on the research projects ManaGender (funded by the FCT) and Femena (funded by the European Union), amongst others. 

Her research interests include topics such as social and gender inequalities, poverty and social exclusion, mixed-methods and multi-method approaches.
