Sofia Frade has 14 years of research experience, specializing in experimental and neuroscience techniques such as EEG, fMRI, and eye-tracking. She has an Integrated Master’s in Experimental Psychology from the University of Minho and a PhD in Cognitive Science from the University of Lisbon. During her PhD, she was a visiting researcher at University College London.
Sofia is currently the Science Manager of LAPSO - Psychology Laboratory of the School of Social Sciences at Iscte-IUL and full member at Cis-IUL integrating the BEC (Behaviour, Emotion and Cognition) research group. She also collaborates in supervision activities in the Psychology Department at Iscte-IUL. Sofia has participated in several research projects and was awarded a four-year scholarship by the FCT to carry out her PhD. She has co-authored 13 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, with more than 350 citations, and has presented papers at several international and national conferences. In addition, she has experience supervising and training research trainees in task design, task programming, data collection, and analysis in psychophysiology. Her research interests include understanding the cognitive and neural mechanisms of memory, language, and emotional processing.
