Phd student in Public Policies at ISCTE-IUL, develops research in the topics of cultural policies, cultural organisations and public governance. Graduated in Cultural Sciences (FLUL), and holds a Master's degree in Municipal Cultural Practices (FCSH-UNL). Collaborates regularly at Comunidade Cultura e Arte and is a "citizen-deputy" in the Cultural Comission of the Citizen Commissions project (Os 230 Association). Between 2017-2019 developed work in a research project at Imprensa Nacional (INCM), and between 2020-2021 was external collaborator of IPPS-Iscte on some projects.
His PhD research - “Governance of Culture: institutional relationships between the Portuguese Ministry of Culture and cultural organizations under its dependence" (supervisor: Pedro Costa) - analyses the political-administrative relationship between the portuguese central government and the cultural organisations under its direct dependency, detecting how their different autonomy degrees and administration models impact the public governance of the cultural sector. At the same time, he is a researcher on the project “Strategies for Culture in the Lisbon Metropolitan Region”, which aims to diagnose the cultural landscape of the region and outline strategic guidelines for its development.
The PhD research was funded by FCT (2022-2025) and by a Merit Scholarship for PhD Students attributed by ISCTE-IUL (2022). He was also distinguished with an Internal Scholarship for Phd Students attributed by ESPP/ISCTE-IUL (2021-2022).
