Joana Varajão is a PhD candidate in urban studies at ISCTE-IUL and FCSH -NOVA University Lisbon, having completed a postgraduate degree in the same field of studies (2022). She holds a master's degree in architecture from the University of Porto (2013), having completed an exchange program at the Polytechnic of Milan (2011/2012). Currently working in the Cultural Heritage Division of the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission, I.P. (CCDR-LVT). Her professional background includes experience in the private and third sectors, and also in the creation, production and organization of cultural events, namely the coordination of the Building 101 program, integrated in the Lisbon Architecture Triennale (2019) and several Battle of Ideas - Satellite Events in Lisbon and Porto (2013-2017), in collaboration with the Institute of Ideas (UK).
