Supporting the UNOSSC’s Triangular Cooperation Window through UNESCO-IESALC and UNOSSC co-launched SUCN as well as extending the initial proposal of CorReMar presented to the Fund Portugal – Latin America – Africa with expertise contributed through universities from Portugal, Chile and Mozambique, this Blue Economy pilot project is based on the need to expand scientific knowledge about the impact of climate change and the possibilities of mitigating it through the development of a blue economy for a green recovery, revitalizing the life of coastal communities and natural and cultural heritage and, at the same time, proposing processes to offset the negative effects of climate change on them, by creating tools that contribute to raising awareness and empowering the communities living there through an evidence-based approach.
