Brazilian immigration in Lisbon and Porto: work and housing trajectories, uses of urban space and social inclusion
Description

The cities of Lisbon and Porto have been marked by an increase in resident immigrant populations, including those from Brazil, as well as by other social, economic and urban transformations, which are fundamentally related to processes of gentrification and touristification. The aim is to deepen scientific knowledge about how the working and housing trajectories of immigrants of Brazilian origin in Lisbon and Porto relate to the uses of urban spaces, the mobilities and networks in which they are involved in both cities, and their processes of social inclusion. Based on a qualitative, relational, network and territorial approach, the aim is to analyze the roles played by the work and housing dimensions in structuring the biographical trajectories of the interlocutors in the respective cities.
