The cooperation project addresses the role of global citizenship in different areas of the education system. This concept is examined from the perspectives of two national education systems (Germany and Portugal). We develop dimensions of comparison that will be useful for other European systems and systems all over the world. On the one hand, we focus on the theoretical and conceptual aspects of global citizenship in the context of education. On the other hand, the project elaborates on methodological problems and challenges in empirical research on inter-/transnational education within national education contexts.
