The sixth generation (6G) of mobile communications, planned around 2030, is expected to support innovative applications with requirements not met with today’s technologies, such as massive-scale communications (within IoT), the Internet of senses, holographic communications, massive digital twinning and Extreme Reality, full autonomous driving and flying networks, considering use cases in smart cities, smart home and factories (e.g. ultra-high precision 3D positioning). With the emergence of viable THz communications systems on the horizon, it is crucial to contribute THz communication and networking to the technology roadmap for beyond 6G timeframe and a step closer to industrial uptake. The TERRAMETA project aims to investigate revolutionary technologies for 6G and demonstrate the feasibility of Terahertz (THz) Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) assisted ultra-high data rate wireless communications networks. Novel high-performance hardware including the THz RIS and THz transmitter/receiver will be developed and advanced network analysis/optimizations techniques will be developed using these real THz components. The proposed TERRAMETA THz network will be driven by 6G usage scenario requirements and indoor, outdoor, and indoor-to-outdoor scenarios will be demonstrated in real factory setting and telecom testing field. It is expected that the outcome of this project will significantly progress innovations for across the 6G Technology and systems.

Os estudantes internacionais brasileiros (EIB) matriculados em instituições de ensino superior em Lisboa são vistos como importantes elementos para a economia urbana numa metrópole que sofreu imensas transformações durante a última década. Esta pesquisa busca compreender os percursos migratórios e as experiências de inserção social e profissional vividas pelos EIB, assim como as suas aspirações de estilo de vida, compreendendo-os como agentes de mudança urbana. O tema abordado será investigado a partir dos aportes teóricos dos estudos sobre mobilidades estudantis, com ênfase na perspectiva metodológica da etnografia urbana, assim como nos estudos centrados em trajetórias biográficas migratórias. Articulamos conceitos importantes para a análise deste processo,nomeadamente o ‘lifestyle migration’, o capital de mobilidade, e as noções de território e territorialidade.
Tais abordagens proporcionam as chaves para compreender o papel dos EIB como agentes de mudança urbana em Lisboa, nas suas práticas cotidianas de produção, apropriação e territorialidade.

In recent years, flipped learning (FL) has become a popular instructional model across several disciplines by flipping the traditional in-class instruction time with out of class activities (Shand & Farrelly, 2017). The notion behind flipped classrooms is to devote the limited in-class time for hands-on inquiry activities, while the course delivery is done outside the classroom (Bergmann & Sams, 2008; Tomory ve Watson, 2015). This gives students opportunities to examine course content in a flexible time and space, while in class time is dedicated to discussions, lab, hands-on activities, and small group activities and practices.Due to pandemic, hybrid-schooling has become more prevalent (Azorin, 2020) and FL has been identified as an instructional model to support active learning. A recent study showed that students were more satisfied with FL models than any other online modes (such as MOOCs, live audio, and live video) and FL improved their conceptual understanding and attention to the course content (Tang et al. 2020). Empirical research is mostly conducted on STEM areas in post secondaryeducation (Wright & Park, 2021) and in K12 mostly with high school students (Lo & Hw, 2017). Research mostly provides evidence for a positive effect on achievement in STEM (Fung et al., 2021; Wright & Park, 2021), engagement in differentdisciplines (Bond, 2020). Considering the challenges, students face difficulties in accessing help and guidelines and limited student preparation.However, teachers felt overwhelmed with the available online resources and tools and stated the lack of knowledge about online/remote teaching strategies (Trust & Whalen, 2020). This might be because most teachers’ lack of online teachingexperiences prior to pandemic (Mashall et al. 2020).
