The Covid-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented crisis of social, political and economic systems throughout Europe and the world. Since March 2020, European countries, regions and cities have taken diverse measures to try and contain the spread of the virus. These measures, while aiming at easing pressure on the health care systems, have had far-reaching impacts on many sectors of economic activity across the continent. Covid-19 and the sanitary measures taken to contain its spread have various disruptive impacts on people’s lives and on how cities, metropolitan areas and regions function. Containment measures resulted in abrupt changes in the way people work, study, shop, socialise and move around. The outcomes of these measures have been detrimental in many ways, resulting, inter alia, in people losing their jobs or having to make ends meet with a reduced income, being socially isolated, and/or having to balance work and teaching their children at home.

No seguimento da investigação sobre as práticas de leitura dos estudantes portugueses, o PNL2027 deu início no ano de 2022 ao estudo sobre as Práticas de Promoção da Leitura junto da população jovem. O novo estudo tem como objetivo a caracterização dos mediadores da leitura, bem como o recenseamento, análise e discussão das práticas de promoção da leitura junto da população em idade escolar, entre os seis e os 18 anos. O universo do estudo é constituído por um conjunto alargado de atores que, em diferentes contextos, partilham a responsabilidade de estimular a leitura: professores do 1.º ciclo, professores de português dos restantes ciclos do ensino básico e do ensino secundário, professores bibliotecários, bibliotecários e curadores de projetos do PNL2027 ou de outros projetos de promoção da leitura. O presente estudo é realizado pelo OPAC – Observatório, Português das Atividades Culturais, uma estrutura do CIES-Iscte e conta com a colaboração da Rede de Bibliotecas Escolares e da Direção-Geral de Estatísticas da Educação e Ciência. O financiamento é assegurado pela McDonald’s.

This action is organized around the general objective (G.O.) to strengthen the mechanisms for the integration of immigrants into Cabo Verde society, while reinforcing the contribution to the priorities defined in the cooperation framework between Portugal and Cabo Verde. This objective is achieved by carrying out several activities oriented towards practical and accurate results, based on the exchange of experiences between both countries to improve the services provided, considering the following specific objectives/outcomes: • S.O.1. – To improve instruments and operating procedures regarding immigrant integration in Cabo Verde, by implementing four local units for immigrant support, a multichannel platform to support and strengthen public services available to immigrants and developing instruments for local approaches. • S.O.2. – To develop capacity-building actions for Cabo Verdean authorities (at national and local level), civil society organizations and ACM key staff, in legal migration management and integration. • S.O.3. – To provide certified professional training of immigrants to promote their professional qualification. • S.O.4. – To produce and disseminate knowledge about migration in Cabo Verde, by developing studies, awareness-raising campaigns, and setting up a Migration Observatory in the country.
