Abstract
Em Malta, a participação nas eleições europeias continua a diminuir, embora se mantenha entre as mais elevadas no seio da União Europeia. As eleições europeias de 2019 foram, sem surpresas, menos participadas do que as legislativas e muito nacionalizadas. Malta revela algumas exceções face à tendência europeia no que respeita à clara vitória dos trabalhistas (S&D) e à pouca expressão de votos na Alternativa Democrática (Verdes). Um dos grandes desafios do Partido Trabalhista será conter as forças de direita eurocéticas, como o Império Europa, que, ainda sem grande expressão, começam a ganhar terreno.
