Abstract
A sociologia é uma ciência antiga, mas com uma presença tardia em Portugal. A ditadura
não permitiu mais do que a existência de um pequeno núcleo de ensino da sociologia (ou
melhor, de uma certa sociologia) em Évora e a organização de um grupo de investigadores
pioneiros organizados no GIS, atual ICS, em torno de Sedas Nunes e da revista Análise
Social, já no final da sua longa existência inibidora do progresso e do desenvolvimento
do país.
