Abstract
Relendo dois textos de João David Pinto Correia, lembrei-me duma experiência curta e proveitosa vivida com ele no ex-Centro de Tradições Populares Portuguesas, onde o Prof. Manuel Viegas Guerreiro nos
juntara. Retive a ideia de madeirensidade1 e o sentimento de pertença. Relativamente à primeira nada trago de novo, não me sinto capacitado para aprofundar a noção por ele esboçada; sobre a segunda, graças ao seu texto refleti e constato que a sociedade madeirense3 se dotou de um dispositivo discursivo, pela via museológica, onde a cultura popular já não surge como um apêndice de lembranças e recordações vividas, testemunhadas ou lidas, mas equacionada, admitida e incorporada numa prática de recordar, esquecer, restituir.
