Abstract
Consumption growth and resource scarcity drive a paradigm shift known as the Circular Economy (CE), which attempts to decouple economic growth from waste, pollution, and environmental damage. CE emphasizes the interconnectedness of resources throughout supply chains (SCs), emphasizing the need to adhere to economic, environmental, and social limits. SC managers need metrics that consider sustainability context and strong relationships with stakeholders. Successful partnerships require trust. CE requires transparency in materials, finance, and product life cycles, optimizing material and goods flows. Modernizing the Portuguese Ornamental Stone sector (POSs) and upgrading them to a higher technological level can help them benefit from circular business models.
