Abstract
Additive manufacturing (AM), also recognized as 3D printing, has been winning more and more appreciation in recent times given its relevance to the emergence of Industry 4.0. AM technology has proven to have enormous potential, and the last decade has seen its rapid development and integration into the industry. Therefore, it becomes necessary to develop tools and support approaches to guide the implementation and adoption of AM technologies in organizations. The roadmap tool is one of the possible tools that can help in the innovation of an organization to support the integration and management of additive manufacturing. Although with the emergence of new materials and processes, it is predictable that AM becomes a trend in manufacturing processes and has more and more interest from both academia and industry, and the need to develop new studies and tools that support this technology is still required. The aim of this chapter is to study the current state of the use of the roadmap applied to additive manufacturing as a tool to map the technological knowledge.
