Abstract
O presente texto discute a noção de “comunidade culatrense” e seus desdobramentos, na Ilha da Culatra, um povoamento de pescadores e mariscadores, na Ria Formosa, Faro, Algarve, sul de Portugal. Privilegiamos o processo de reivindicação territorial e comunitária,a recente discussão sobre desenvolvimento sustentável daquela área e seu papel na interação entre a Associação de Moradores da Ilha da Culatra e organismos do Estado português que detém a jurisdição daquele espaço.
