Abstract
Se nos aventurarmos pelas viagens do olhar de Lúcio Costa poderemos percepcionar e consciencializar a evolução do seu conhecimento e contacto com a tradição brasileira e com a raiz portuguesa no confronto entre erudito e popular, desvendando, através de um olhar radiográfico, a lógica construtiva e expressiva, que por ventura nos desvendará os fundamentos da arquitectura portuguesa. A memória dessas viagens, onde a arquitectura se dava a ver claramente vista, e onde recebeu a lição da arquitectura pela própria arquitectura, é particularmente interessante no que concerne à particular linha dada aos telhados portugueses, registada em três textos: Tradição Local (1929), Documentação Necessária (1937) e Anotações ao Correr da Lembrança (1980).
