Abstract
Nesta comunicação, proponho analisar as representações da cabo-verdianidade patentes num conjunto de artefactos (tapeçaria, batik e quadros em fibras naturais) e reflectir sobre o modo como reproduzem ou contraditam discursos visuais forjados no período colonial e se articulam com as actuais narrativas de promoção turística. / This paper studies the depictions of Cape Verdeanity in a set of artefacts (tapestries, batiks and pictures in natural fibres). I shall discuss how these objects reproduce or contradict visual discourses forged in the colonial period and are interwoven with the current narratives promoting tourism.
