Abstract
This paper aims to present the CD-Rom "Vamos fazer jornais escolares" (Let's produce school newspapers) whose main objective is to contribute to the introduction of Media Education in the school curricula either in Portugal or in Europe. The CD-Rom was validated by experts and tested in two schools with 100 students during one year long. It was used in the process of school newspapers production and the result was very positive. The paper also deals with the relationship children and young people have with daily and school newspapers. It presents results of a research conducted in Portugal, and the first results show that the main daily newspapers write about children and young people as social victims or students. The research also concludes that children and young people do not have voice in the great majority of the news that deal with them.
