Abstract
Este capítulo visa:
(a) Definir conceitos fundamentais da psicometria, os seus objetivos e principais correntes inspiradoras;
(b) Definir validade e fidelidade e caracterizar os tipos de validade e fidelidade que podemos determinar relativamente a um instrumento de medida psicológica;
(c) Salientar a importância da obtenção de características psicométricas de instrumentos de medida psicológica.
