Abstract
Entre o final do Antigo Regime e a contemporaneidade, os Ranchos de Maio, uma prática ancestral do Baixo Mondego, realizaram o seu percurso, num intrincado sistema de símbolos e identificações, acabando por se reduzir a um reduto performativo e patrimonializado que existe num contínuo temporal que liga o território às construções e representações do seu passado. A presente comunicação propõe-se a percorrer precisamente esse percurso, identificando atores e tendências, e fazendo dialogar a particularidade da experiência local com tendências mais abrangentes.
