Abstract
Es wird zunächst in allgemeine Charakteristika der Hochschul- und Forschungslandschaft in Frankreich eingeführt. Hierbei wird auf die dualistische Struktur von den Universitäten auf der einen Seite und den Elitehochschulen, die allgemein als grandes écoles bezeichnet werden, auf der anderen Seite, eingegangen und anschließend der Aufbau des universitären sowie des nicht universitären Hochschul- und Forschungsbereichs erläutert. Zudem wird knapp die Situation der Hochschulreformen insbesondere nach dem Bologna-Prozess dargestellt.
