I hold a PhD in Sociology from Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, with a thesis that analysed the political appropriation of the notion of resilience and its role in the transformation of the European social model in the context of the financial and pandemic crises. I am a Guest Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and Public Policies at Iscte, where I have taught on the Degree in Social Work, the Master's in Disability Studies and Human Rights and in Sociology, and the PhD in Policies of School Administration and Management. I am an Integrated Researcher at CIES-Iscte, part of the "Inequalities, Work and Social Well‑Being" research group. My research has been developed in the fields of poverty and social inequalities, education and training policies, social protection, and disability studies, with a particular focus on the evaluation and planning of public policies. This activity has resulted in my participation in several research and consultancy projects in these areas, in partnership with public entities and civil society organisations, as well as in a regular scientific output, with articles published in national and international journals on social resilience, social policy and public policy. I am currently a member of project teams including the Disability Prevalence Study, the Cascais Educational Charter, the Equity and Inclusion in Public Administration project, and the evaluation of the Radar Social programme.
