Alexandra Saraiva is an architect (1995), master (2008) and PhD in Architecture (2011), with the thesis “Influence of the Work of Louis I. Kahn on the work of Hestnes Ferreira”.
Researcher integrated into DINÂMIA’CET-IUL at ISCTE, with a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from FCT (2015-2022). Since April 2022, with an individual Assistant Researcher contract, she has been developing the research “Learning from the past: the importance of participatory production of old housing for the coming years”. His scientific activity focuses on the following areas of research: History of Architecture and Contemporary Urbanism in Portugal; Housing; Contemporary architectural and urban heritage in Portugal. Alexandra has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences and has experience in wound healing. Specialist in processing architectural archival documents (evaluation, cataloging, conservation, digitization). Consultant at the Marques da Silva Foundation responsible for the Hestnes Ferreira collection (2018), as well as the incorporation of collections by architects Manuel Graça Dias (2019), Manuel Marques de Aguiar (2019), Carlos Carvalho Dias (2020).
Professor at Universidade Lusíada do Porto, since 1996. Supervisor of integrated master's theses in Architecture. Researcher (2007-2015) at the Center for Research in Territory, Architecture and Design (CITAD).
