The main goal of the proposed project is to develop an analysis framework that can help answering such questions. The intended framework will enable the identification and traction of important events (topics) and key actors within those topics, as well as identify their origin and propagation timeline. Measures and indicators to characterize events will be proposed by the research team and provided by the framework contributing with essential information to understand the social networkphenomena and its importance in current world society.

O acesso às tecnologias de informação e à internet surge, na sociedade contemporânea, como oportunidade e desafio. Entendido numa tripla dimensão (acesso à informação, à sua produção e partilha), o acesso pleno depende de um conjunto de questões estruturais (financeiras, tecnológicas), de literacia e políticas/legais. Neste trabalho pretende-se explorar o papel da sociedade civil e dos ‘movimentos tecnológicos’ no combate pelo acesso às tecnologias da informação, focando três tipos de actores: (1) os que visam o acesso às infra-estruturas tecnológicas (movimento wireless, partilha de servidores...); (2) os que promovem a capacitação tecnológica, (3) os que actuam a um nível político (movimentos pela liberdade de expressão; comunidade ‘copyleft’, movimento ‘pirata’, etc...). Através de uma estratégia metodológica baseada em análise biográfica, etnografia virtual e análise de redes sociais, procurar-se-á perceber as estratégias de apropriação das tecnologias, o papel da sociedade civil na promoção do acesso a estas e os limites do acesso.

The objective of this project is to establish a research programme focused on two interrelated aspects:an analysis of the relationship between family and work, on the one hand, and the dynamics of transition in this relationship, on the other.

To examine how young European men and women working in public and private sector workplaces negotiate motherhood and fatherhood, and work-family boundaries in the context of different national welfare state regimes, family and employer support.
