Migration, space and difference: an ethnographic approach to migrant small business owners in Anjos (Lisbon) and Bonfim (Porto)
Lisbon and Porto have received migrant flows, from both the Global North and Global South, Europe and non-Europe. Using an ethnographic approach, I will focus on migrant small business owners in two different neighbourhoods: Anjos (Lisbon) and Bonfim (Porto). This research aims to understand the migratory trajectories and modes of emplacement of migrants in their new cities. I also look at how these processes intersect with migration and urban policies. The aim is to generate knowledge to guide integrated public policies, taking into account the demographic deficit in Portugal.     Supervisor: Daniel Malet Calvo
