Sofia Ferreira holds a PhD in Psychology from ISCTE and was a research fellow funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the grant reference FCT UI/BD/150992/2021. Her research interests focus on the Child Protection System. Her doctoral project aimed to provide new insights into the factors associated with becoming a foster family and explored how communication strategies can be used to raise awareness, willingness, and intention to foster. She is currently working as a psychologist at APPJ – Associação de Promoção de Públicos Jovens, where she is involved in psychosocial intervention with children and young people at risk.
