The project aims to develop and support the implementation of a Family Support Component (CAF) monitoring and evaluation system in the 2nd stage of basic education under the Cascais Municipality's Growing Up Full-Time program, during the 2024/2025 school year. 10 CAFs are expected to take part, covering around 500 students.
Consistent with the participatory approach favored by the Municipality of Cascais, this project focuses on listening to and interacting with the various stakeholders in the CAF response, in the course of different tasks. The aim is to (a) ensure the participatory construction of monitoring and evaluation indicators, taking into account the specific nature of each CAF and, at the same time, its shared (i.e. transversal) focus on the development of socio-emotional skills; and (b) reflect with the different stakeholders on the results obtained and their implications.
With these objectives in mind, the aim is to ensure the active participation of children, families, professionals who run the CAF activities (“brincadores”), members of the school boards, etc., in close collaboration with the Pedagogical Support and Educational Innovation Division of Cascais City Council. The approach to be adopted will take into account the need to ensure the usefulness and future sustainability of the quality monitoring and evaluation system.
