This project will expand the design practices, enhance the methodological quality, and collect fundamental information through the co-design and pilot assessment of a Social and Emotional Learning program for university students. In the first year, a qualitative study will explore students' perceptions of social and emotional competencies that can be part of the curriculum, identify gaps in their skills, and assess strategies for promoting emotional awareness and regulation, prosociality, peer collaboration and acceptance, and trust-building. Findings will inform the program design. In the second year, pilot sessions will be implemented, with a students’ advisory group providing iterative feedback to refine the program, including engagement, impact on their relationships and academic environment, suggestions for improvement, and challenges to the sustainability of the skills learned and implement prosocial behaviors. A pre-post quantitative assessment will monitor the program's impact on prosociality, self-awareness and management, health, and well-being.
