Abstract
Desde a época do império colonial luso-espanhol que as relações entre estas duas áreas continentais sempre existiram. No entanto, é o actual estágio geopolítico que interessa para este pequeno ensaio.
De facto, foi com as independências colonias africanas, e em muito particular, após a independência de Angola, que as relações e a cooperação entre a América Latina e África mais se incrementaram. Para esta cooperação muito tem contribuido, principalmente, a República Federativa do Brasil, sem, contundo, esquecer a contribuição de Cuba para a afirmação de Angola, enquanto Estado, no conflito pós-independência sucedido entre 1975 e 1988.
