Abstract
As questões relacionadas com a proveniência e documentação das coleções não-europeias têm estado no centro dos debates e das práticas nas esferas da academia e dos museus. Contudo, a tónica tem essencialmente focado nos trânsitos coloniais, relegando para segundo plano - a nível expositivo e discursivo - as histórias múltiplas subjacentes a estas coleções. Neste sentido, esta apresentação procura revisitar os contributos da abordagem em termos de biografia dos objetos e as suas potencialidades com vista a sublinhar as complexidades das práticas de recolha, de circulação, de coleção e de exposição.
