Abstract
Escreveu Tim Ingold em 1991, no prefácio a um dos mais interessantes trabalhos de Antropologia Marítima dessa época que «... we should turn seawards to rediscover the continuities of the dwelt‑in world». Alargando o âmbito da referência ao mar e estendendo‑o à atmosfera e às estrelas, este texto identifica os domínios da água e da abóbada celeste enquanto protótipos culturais de circularidade. Para tanto, convoca a teoria autopoiética da Escola de Santiago, a Arqueologia Pré‑Histórica e os estudos paleoclimáticos, a Astronomia Cultural e a Etnografia. Este esboço exploratório beneficia do background crítico dos sucessivos momentos criativos da Antropologia das últimas décadas — fenomenologia, «ontological turn», «affective turn»... — e trata com um interesse especial algumas das ideias inovadoras da obra de Tim Ingold.
