Abstract
Es wird eine Kontextualisierung des Forschungsgegenstandes der Studie, die Écoles normales supérieures, vorgenommen. Zunächst wird die historische Entwicklung dieser Institution seit dem 18. Jahrhundert nachgezeichnet und anschließend erfolgt eine Situierung dieser grandes écoles innerhalb der Hochschul- und Forschungslandschaft in Frankreich. Hierbei wird die bedeutende Rolle der Écoles normales supérieures für das Feld der französischen Intellektuellen aufgezeigt.
