Abstract
O artigo apresenta a análise de estudos de caso que correspondem a formas alternativas da cadeia de valor do sistema alimentar (produção, transformação, distribuição, consumo) na Área Metropolitana de Lisboa. Pretende-se compreender a importância destes projetos para a definição de dinâmicas de inovação na transição para a sustentabilidade e procede-se também à sua caracterização (perfil e motivações dos seus promotores, importância de medidas políticas, estabelecimento de redes de parcerias). O artigo apresenta ainda algumas reflexões sobre as mudanças das políticas económicas, sociais e legislativas que determinaram a evolução do sistema alimentar explorando perspetivas futuras.
