Key rural stakeholders at European, national, regional and local levels lack the knowledge and tools to design future-oriented policies, programmes and services aiming at younger rural generations aged 18- 29. Specifically, these stakeholders are faced with the lack of methods and indicators for capturing these youths’ future visions in multiple domains (e.g. employment). This challenge limits on-the-ground capacity to manage the demands stemming from the dual transition (e.g., rural labour markets transformations), shrinking social services resources and autonomy, rural societies loss of critical mass driven by youth out-migration or risks of worst educational and employment outcomes among rural young people. This CIG tackles the central problem and all its ramifications through the development of the Future Youth Information for Rural Areas (FYI-R).

Trata-se de um estudo exploratório observacional que visa identificar indicadores chave de saúde menstrual, que sejam comparáveis, robustos e relevantes para as políticas de saúde e promover a sua integração nos sistemas nacionais de informação de saúde franceses e portugueses através de uma abordagem participativa e metodologias de consenso. São objetivos específicos do presente estudo: 1. Cocriar uma definição operacional de saúde menstrual através de um painel Delphi com peritos e stakeholders a nível multidisciplinar e multissetorial em França e em Portugal; 2. Identificar indicadores de saúde menstrual que sejam social e culturalmente adequados aos contextos específicos; 3. Identificar oportunidades e obstáculos para a adoção de indicadores que permitam intervenções mais eficazes e culturalmente sensíveis. Ao destacar semelhanças e diferenças entre os sistemas de saúde de França e Portugal, identificar as melhores práticas e áreas a melhorar, e definir prioridades de investigação e intervenção, este estudo pode informar os processos de tomada de decisão e servir como um modelo para outros países que procurem melhorar as suas políticas de saúde através de abordagens participativas e baseadas em evidência.

  Social work in health is historically associated with a role in health care access, community support and humanization of services. Health care organizations, policy makers and clinicians have developed quality indicators in health care organizations as a premise to higher quality standards in health care. The intervention of social workers extends beyond medical, nursing, education, rehabilitation, and social care services", but also requires attention to be given to the quality of care practices, which includes the delivery of care services at a granular level alongside their organization (mezzo) and their development (macro). In addition, contemporary health care requires new technological advances, to ensure that are delivered in a way that recognizes the need of individuals, but also address inter- and transdisciplinary dimensions. Recent years have seen increasing integration of health and social work systems requiring skilled practitioners able to navigate this technological world. This proposal aims to respond to these challenges, developing a future Erasmus Mundus Master Programme on Social Work in Health. The consortium is composed by Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon (Portugal, Coord), University of Valencia (Spain),  Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland/University of Medicine and Health Sciences (Ireland), and Robert Gordon University, Scotland (United Kingdom). The aim is to develop an educational master programme, focusing the development of theoretical, methodological, and instrumental skills in students to work in health and care at micro, mezzo and macro level in the context of public health, policy, leadership, management and evaluation. The Coordinated Humanitarian Response, Health and Displacement action-research project aims to implement an international master's degree, including European and African universities - HumanResponse Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree. The programme aims to provide a unique multidisciplinary programme in teaching and research about life-saving assistance and displacement in volatile contexts. The Erasmus Mundus project provides 60 scholarships for students, teacher mobility and lectures by Visiting Scholars from various countries.  In addition, it contributes to research with articles on innovative topics. The programme is jointly developed by Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Makerere University (MU), University of Cape Verde (UniCV), University of Santiago (US), University of Athens (UAthens) and University of Rovuma (URovuma). The first semester is spent in Lisbon, Portugal, the second semester in Trondheim, Norway, and the third semester in Kampala, Uganda, before the students move to one of the seven partner institutions to work on their master’s thesis. In the fourth-semester students may collect dissertation data in humanitarian contexts with 23 institutions (associated partners) in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South America or Asia. The curriculum is taught by both academics and practitioners, emphasizing problem-based learning and knowledge application opportunities in summer schools and internships.   HumanResponse tackles both research and teaching to address the pressing need for professionalisation of humanitarian workers through: fostering South-North collaboration and multi-stakeholder cooperation, strengthening localized leadership, and articulating theory and practice to navigate organizational complexity in humanitarian action.
