John Jesus Romão Do the boundaries between artistic territories, between artists and their specialisations, and between communities of audiences continue to define the current cultural panorama or can we speak of a new identity paradigm in contemporary artistic practices?On a theoretical level, exploring this research question allows for an in-depth reflection on the evolution of contemporary artistic fields, highlighting the changes in traditional conceptions of borders and identities in art. Investigating whether borders still act as rigid boundaries or whether a new identity paradigm is emerging in contemporary artistic practices offers crucial tools for understanding current cultural and artistic dynamics in a globalised world where, in the face of current geopolitical challenges, with war and migratory crises, the meaning of borders is reinvigorated.On an empirical level, addressing this question allows us to analyse how artists, cultural institutions and the public are redefining borders and exp Developing Iscte 2024
