Athena Project aims to develop the digital skills of university professors, reinforcing their response to the challenges that universities face today and in the future. The project seeks to foster cooperative learning environments, making them transformative and inclusive through the adoption of new technologies, such as e-learning, gaming platforms, virtual and augmented reality, systematically modeled to activate key competences in digital learning. The project will create models that teachers can adopt and adapt to their classes, using different pedagogical approaches.
With the active involvement of faculty and students from the beginning of the project, ATHENA will create, test and implement innovative digital practices, putting technologies to use to create new pedagogical approaches and achieve better teaching and learning experiences.
The methodology used in the project is design thinking and learning design to create four courses in digital education format, using innovative pedagogical and technological solutions.
The project has an impact on the pedagogical methodologies used in digital education and on the skills of teachers and students. These three dimensions are the subject of research, which will have as main outputs at least 4 scientific articles, a scientific book and a special track at an international conference.
